• Master of Arts degree from Cambridge University and Master of Music in instrumental conducting from the Indiana University School of Music (Double Masters)

• Former Resident Conductor of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra

• Faculty member at the Hong Kong Baptist University, teaching Instrumental and Choral Conducting, Former Associate Instructor of Music Theory at the Indiana University School of Music for undergraduate and graduate programs

• an internationally recognized teacher whose private students have been accepted into world-renowned music schools, notably to the Instrumental Conducting program (Master program) at Indiana University School of Music in successive years, and Musicology Doctoral Program at Harvard University

• co-hosted conducting workshops with Maestro Jahja Ling –Emmy-award winning conductor who holds the longest working relationship with the world-famous Cleveland Orchestra

Course Overview: This real-time ZOOM online course follows the format of ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory Exam syllabus. ABRSM Grade 8 Exam Preparation Course covers topics including Increased harmonic vocabulary & modulation, Four-part writing / keyboard style & figured bass, Completion of outline in given style
Score reading & focus on context. Students are taught to efficiently prepare for the upcoming exam in June.

Course Pre-requisite/ Requirement: Music Theory Grade 5 Level

Course Dates and Time: 

*The course time will be changed to

5:00 – 6:30PM for MT007/ 7:30 - 9:00PM for MT008 (1.5 hour per session) if the number of students enrolled for the particular class is less than 4;

5:00 – 6:00PM for MT007/ 7:30 – 8:30PM for MT008 (1 hour per session) if the number of students enrolled for the particular class is less than 3.
